Review | Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Eyeshadow

Wednesday, December 17, 2014

During Sephora's VIB sale I picked up a Josie Maran set filled with many of their best selling products. I never tried anything from the brand so I took it as a good opportunity to some new things. One of the items was this Coconut Watercolor Eyeshadow which is actually a full size. My first impression of this by looking at the bottle is that it's very watery. But the key to this is to SHAKE it up before you use it. The water and the color separate so in order to get the proper use and color, you need to shake it each time before you use it.

The wand on this is a doe foot which makes it easy to apply it straight on to your eyelid. The best way to use this is to apply it on to the lid and blend it out with your finger. What's great about this, and the way is dries, it can be used alone or as a base for another color to make it pop.

The color I got is in Rio De Rose Gold and I love it! I don't own any other colors like this and it's just a beautiful metallic rose gold that is beautiful for any look or any time of year. As you can see from the swatch the color is so pigmented and beautiful.

I absolutely love this product and I can't wait to try some of the other shades!

Have you tried this before? What do you think? Comment down below!

Daily Dupe | Maybelline vs. Benefit

Saturday, December 13, 2014

I'm here with another daily dupe- it's been a while since I did one of these! Today's battle is Benefit Porefessional ($31) vs Maybelline Baby Skin ($8).

I have to be honest, both of these products are some of my favorites and I think both do a great job. But is it worth it for the splurge? Keep reading to find out!

Review +Swatches | ColourPop Eyeshadows

Wednesday, December 10, 2014

I have been hearing a lot about ColourPop eyeshadows recently and I'm a huge eyeshadow junkie so these are something I was very interested in trying! First of all, I did a ton of searching before of swatches to see which shades would be the most practical for me. I think I did a pretty good job of picking out 3 very different shades, but all very neutral.

Starting with the texture of these, you can't really know what they feel like until you try them. But it's a powder eyeshadow, but it has almost a creamy texture. THESE WILL NOT WORK WITH A BRUSH. I felt like I got the best color payoff with just using my fingers and patting them with my ring finger. If you look at the swatches down below, all of those were done with 1 swirl in the pan and right onto the back of my hand.

I used these with a primer underneath and I felt that they lasted and applied just like a regular eyeshadow. The plus about these is that they are super pigmented and can be worn a lot and they will still give a lot of dimension.

In terms of fall out, there can be a lot because there is glitter and tons of pigmentation. But to me it's worth it, and I make sure I do my eyes before the rest of my makeup and use a makeup wipe to remove the fall out.
